202-26 July 21, 2026 RESOLUTION OF THE TOWNSHIP COUNCIL OF THE TOWNSHIP OF WEST ORANGE, COUNTY OF ESSEX, STATE OF NEW JERSEY AUTHORIZING THE MAYOR AND CLERK TO EXECUTE MODIFICATION No.1 TO FEDERAL AID AGREEMENT WITH THE NJDOT WHEREAS, the Federal Highway Administration (FHWA) authorized additional funding in the amount of $272,179.06 for the FY 2022 Safe Routes to Schools – Design Assistance Program; and WHEREAS, the total authorized Federal funding for the project is now $611,059.21; and WHEREAS, this authorization was based on the scope of work and budget agreed upon by the Township of West Orange and the NJDOT Division of Local Aid; and WHEREAS, the scope of work in this authorization includes Final Design (FD) Activities, and any changes to the approved scope of work require prior approval from the Federal Highway Administration (FHWA); and WHEREAS, the New Jersey Department of Transportation has transmitted Modification No. 1 to Federal Aid Agreement No. 2024-DT-DLA-520 for execution by the Township; and WHEREAS, the Township must execute the Agreement Modification and return the required signed documents to the NJDOT for execution by the Department. NOW THEREFORE BE IT RESOLVED, by the Township Council of the Township of West Orange, County of Essex, State of New Jersey, that the Mayor and Township Clerk are hereby authorized to execute Modification No. 1 to Federal Aid Agreement No. 2024-DT-DLA-520 for the FY 2022 Safe Routes to Schools – Design Assistance Program. BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that the Township Clerk is hereby directed to return three (3) original signed and sealed copies of the Agreement Modification, together with three (3) original signed and sealed copies of this Resolution, if required pursuant to the Township's procedures, to the New Jersey Department of Transportation for execution by the Department.
