1 209-26 July 21, 2026 RESOLUTION WHEREAS, the Township of West Orange seeks to appoint Dawn M. Donohue to serve as Chief Judge of the Municipal Court for the Township of West Orange, and to establish the terms and conditions of said appointment; and WHEREAS, the Chief Judge of the Municipal Court shall have all the rights, duties, obligations, and responsibilities of the Chief Judge of the Municipal Court as set forth under applicable law and Township ordinance between the Township of West Orange and Dawn M. Donohue; and WHEREAS, Dawn M. Donohue will be appointed Chief Judge of the Municipal Court on July 1, 2026, and the term of employment will continue through June 30, 2029; and WHEREAS, the annual base salary for the Chief Judge of the Municipal Court shall be $95,000 effective July 1, 2026, subject to an annual increase of three percent (3.0%), with said increase to take effect on July 1, 2027, and on July 1, 2028, during the term of employment; and WHEREAS, the position of Chief Judge of the Municipal Court is a salaried position exempt from overtime; and NOW, THEREFORE BE IT RESOLVED by the Mayor and Council of the Township of West Orange in the County of Essex, State of New Jersey, that Dawn M. Donohue is hereby appointed to the position of Chief Judge of the Municipal Court for the Township of West Orange, effective July 1, 2026, for a term ending June 30, 2029, at an annual base salary of $95,000, subject to a 3.0% annual increase; and BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED, Dawn M. Donohue as Chief Judge of the Municipal Court shall be subject to and shall agree to abide by all Township ordinances, applicable law, and the terms of the Employment Agreement; and BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED, that a certified copy of this Resolution shall be provided to the Township Clerk, the Chief Financial Officer, the Chief Judge of the Municipal Court, and any other Township official or department as may be necessary to effectuate the terms hereof.
