2873-24 LEGISLATIVE HISTORY This Ordinance will extend the 8AM-10AM No Parking Zone on Oakridge Road to the southerly Dead End, and create a new 8AM-10AM No Parking Zone on Colony Drive West to discourage all day parking by Seton Hall Prep students as they arrive for their school day, and allow parking at other times for the residents. This change was recommended by the Traffic Division of WOPD.

2874-24 LEGISLATIVE HISTORY This Ordinance will relocate the School Bus Stops from Gregory Place and move them to Gilbert Place in front of Roosevelt Middle School. The Parent/Student automobile drop off zone will be relocated to Gregory Place, where parking will not be allowed, but will be posted as a school drop zone, and Stopping and Standing will be prohibited on the opposite side of Gregory Place during school drop off hours. The Municipal Engineer and Officers of the West Orange Police Traffic Division met with the Roosevelt Middle School Principal and the W.O. Superintendent of Schools on September 10, 2024 to discuss student drop off concerns, which includes accommodating special needs students with a bus drop off area in front of the school entrance.

2875-24 AN ORDINANCE AMENDING AND SUPPLEMENTING CHAPTER 7, TRAFFIC, SUBSECTION 7-32.2 RESTRICTED PARKING ZONES OF THE REVISED GENERAL ORDINANCES OF THE TOWNSHIP OF WEST ORANGE BE IT ORDAINED, by the Township Council of the Township of West Orange, in the County of Essex, State of New Jersey as follows: Section 1. Subsections 7-32.2, Restricted Parking Zones of the Revised General Ordinances of the Township of West Orange is hereby supplemented and amended as follows (italic type denotes deletion, bold type denotes addition): 7-32.2 Restricted Parking Zones. Pursuant to N.J.S.A 39:4-197.6, Restricted Parking Zones, as defined in N.J.S.A. 39:4-207.6e, are established in front of the following residences as indicated on the Tax Maps of the Township of West Orange, at the specified locations. Parking within a specific zone is restricted to the motor vehicle issued a permit pursuant to N.J.S.A. 39:4-197.7. In accordance with N.J.S.A., 39:4-197.6 parking is permitted in the Restricted Parking Zone except when prohibited in front of the residence by other sections of this Chapter.
