Conference Meeting — February 18, 2020 The Township Council of the Township of West Orange met in the Council Chambers, Municipal Building, 66 Main Street, West Orange, New Jersey at 6:34 p.m., Karen Carnevale, Municipal Clerk read the following statement: This is to inform the general public that this meeting is being held in compliance with Section 5 of the Open Public Meetings Act, Chapter 231, Public Law 1975. The annual notice was emailed to the Star Ledger and filed in the Township Clerk’s office on October 31, 2019 and published in the West Orange Chronicle on November 7, 2019. Roll Call — Councilman Guarino, Councilman Krakoviak, Councilwoman Matute-Brown, Councilwoman McCartney, Council President Casalino The Council members presented their liaison announcements. Mr. Sayers gave an update as to redevelopment specifically the Edison Loft project. The Council gave their liaison announcements. (Lepore) h. 39-20 Resolution Awarding a Towing License to C & L Towing, 517 Prospect Street, East Orange, NJ 07017 for the time period of November 1, 2019 through October 31, 2022 (Legal-Maier) On motion made by Councilman Guarino and seconded by Councilwoman McCartney, the consent agenda was approved. All members present voting “Aye.” Ordinance(s) on Second Reading — None Ordinance(s) on First Reading - None Pending Matters/New Matters/Council Discussion © Change to W.O. Historic Preservation Commission Ordinance The Council had a discussion as to whether or not to change the ABC Hours from a 2 a.m. closing time to a3 a.m. closing time on Thursdays, Fridays and Saturdays. A roll call vote was taken to decide whether or not to move forward on this matter. Councilman Guarino, Councilwoman Matute-Brown and Council President Casalino voted no. Councilman Krakoviak and Councilwoman McCartney voted yes. The Council will not move forward on changing the ABC hours at this time. e HR 1384 Medicare for All Act At 7:50 p.m. on motion made by Councilman Guarino and seconded by Councilman McCartney, the meeting was adjourned.
