The Council President stated that this is the scheduled time for the public hearing and asked the Clerk to read the ordinance by title only. The Council President asked if there was anyone who wished to be heard, There was no one that wished to be heard and the public hearing on this Ordinance was closed. On motion made by Councilwoman Ghebremicael and seconded by Councilwoman Casalino, the above referenced ordinance was approved. BE IT ORDAINED BY THE MUNICIPAL COUNCIL OF THE TOWNSHIP OF WEST ORANGE, NEW JERSEY that Chapter 28 of the Revised General Ordinances of the Township of West Orange be and are hereby supplemented as follows: I, PURPOSE The purpose of this ordinance is to establish a lawn care registry for businesses operating a commercial lawn business as defined herein. § 28-17—Definitions Commercial Lawn Maintenance Business - A business that performs lawn and yard maintenance within the Township where the cutting of grass and removal of leaves are performed. § 28-18—Registration of Commercial Lawn Maintenance Businesses A, All commercial lawn maintenance businesses must register with the Township Public Works Department by March 1 of each year, unless the business is registered with the State of New Jersey under the Contractors' Registration Act (N.J,S.A. 56:8-136 et seq.) and New Jersey Administrative Code § 13:45A-17.2. For 2025 only, the registration deadline will be July 1, 2025. Businesses that are already registered with the State of New Jersey must submit a copy of their state registration to the Township Public Works Department by March 1 each year.
