Show all pages5 Ordinances on Second and Final Reading Ordinance #2323-11 On motion made by Councilwoman Spango and seconded by Councilwoman McCartney, AN ORDINANCE AUTHORIZING THE RECONSTRUCTION OF THE SYSTEM OF SEWERAGE AND DRAINAGE AND ASSOCIATED REPAIR, RESONSTRUCTION AND RAPAVING OF THE ROADWAYS WITHIN THE LLEWELLYN PARK SECTION OF THE TOWNSHIP OF WEST ORANGE AS LOCAL IMPROVEMENTS TO BE ASSESSED UPON THE ABUTTING LAND PURSUANT TO NJSA 40:49-6 AND NJSA 40:56-1, ET. SEQ., was taken up on second and final reading. All members voting “Aye”. The Council President stated that this is the scheduled time for the public hearing and asked the Clerk to read the ordinance by title only. The Council President asked if there was anyone who wished to be heard. Deputy Director Leonard Lepore commented on the above and gave a brief overview of the above mentioned ordinance. Gerald Sweeney, 8 Long Branch Way, West Orange, commented on the above ordinance. John Schmidt, 27 Glen, Llewellyn Park, West Orange stated that he is not in favor of the above ordinance. Joseph Riopel, 5 Ashley Road, West Orange spoke in support of the above ordinance. Bernard Wallerstein, 1 Elm Court Way, Llewellyn Park, West Orange, one of the Trustees of Llewellyn Park, spoke in support of the above ordinance. Gary Steglan, 1 Edgehill Road, West Orange stated that he is not in favor of the above ordinance. Leonard Polaner, 16 Tulip Avenue, Llewellyn Park, West Orange commented on the above ordinance. Bill Westenheimer, 62 Glen Avenue, Llewellyn Park, West Orange commented on the above ordinance and stated that most of the Llewellyn Park Community is in favor of the above ordinance Margaret Gross, 15 Elm Court Way, Llewellyn Park, West Orange spoke in support of the above ordinance. There was no one else who wished to be heard and the public hearing was closed. Following a lengthy discussion and on motion made by Councilman Cirilo and seconded by Councilwoman Spango, the above mentioned ordinance was passed on second and final reading and ordered advertised according to law.
