Show all pages12/14/2818 17:83 9733259976 KEN KAYSER PAGE 02/86 Resolution # F$-10 Adopted 12/14/2010 RESOLUTION WHEREAS, on January 19, 2010, the Township Council of the Township of West Orange adopted on second reading Ordinance #2243-09, granting renewal of municipal consent to Comcast of New Jersey II, LLC (“Comcast”), to construct, connect, operate and maintain a cable television and communications system in the Township of West Orange for a term of fifteen (15) years, and WHEREAS, as part of the consideration for the renewal of the Township’s municipal consent, Comcast agreed and promised to provide the Township with a one-time grant for access related need in the amount of $75,000.00, within six (6) months of the renewal Certificate of Approval by the Office of Cable Television, and WHEREAS, the basis of the access related ueed consisted largely of the testimony of Martin Kale, Media Coordinator for the West Orange Board of Education, regarding the equipment needs for the operation of Channel 36, the Township’s public, educational and governmental access channel, in order to replace and/or upgrade aging equipment to more technologically current and better functioning equipment to maintain a high quality of broadcasting, both for the benefit of the students who receive training in broadcasting and for the benefit of the public by maintaining an acceptable quality of broadcasting, and WHEREAS, the Township has received its grant for access related needs in the amount of $75,000.00, and has received the Board of Education’s Media Coordinator’s list of needed equipment, and wishes to transfer from that grant the sum of $60,000.00, to the West Orange Board of Education specifically to be used for purchase of new equipment to enable and facilitate the effective and efficient operation of Channel 36, the Towaship’s public, educational and governmental access channel, NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT, AND HEREBY IT IS, RESOLVED BY THE TOWNSHIP COUNCIL OF THE TOWNSHIP OF WEST ORANGE, that the sum of $60,000.00, from the $75,000 grant received from Comcast for access related needs in connection with the renewal of its municipal consent for a term of fifteen (15) years, shall be transferred and paid to the West Orange Boatd of Education specifically for the purchase of new and upgraded equipment, including, but not limited to, the equipment set forth on the list annexed
