154-10 June 15, 2010 RESOLUTION WHEREAS, certain ABC charges have been brought against Duran & Vera, t/a El Rancho, Licensee # 0722-33-039-006/007, and are scheduled to be heard by the Township of West Orange ABC Board on the evening of June 15, 2010; and WHEREAS , some potential witnesses expected to participate in the hearing speak and/or understand only Spanish; and WHEREAS , a Spanish/English interpreter is needed to assist the witnesses, counsel and the ABC Board to provide and understand the testimony of at least some of the anticipated witnesses and to ensure that the requirements of due process of law are met; and WHEREAS , Maria Voltmer is a court certified Spanish/English interpreter, doing business as Maria’s Interpreting Service, located in the Township of West Orange; and WHEREAS , Maria Voltmer is willing and able to provide her interpreting services to the ABC Board for its hearing of the ABC charges against El Rancho at the rate of $60 per hour with a three (3) hour minimum; NOW, THEREFORE, IT IS AND HEREBY IS, RESOLVED by the Township Council of the Township of West Orange, that the Mayor shall be authorized to execute a contract for the provision of interpreter services by Maria Voltmer, Maria’s Interpreting Service, West Orange, NJ, at the rate of $60 per hour with a three (3) hour minimum, for acting as a Spanish/English interpreter at the ABC Board hearing on charges of ABC violations now pending against Duran & Vera, t/a El Rancho, Licensee # 0722-33-039-006/007, scheduled to be heard on the evening of June 15, 2010. _________________________________ ____________________________________ Karen J.
