1.0 EXECUTIVE SUMMARY Dynamic Earth, LLC (Dynamic Earth) has completed a preliminary geotechnical investigation and stormwater basin area investigation for the proposed site development located at 2 and 10 Ridge Road in the Township of West Orange, Essex County, New Jersey. Based on the results of our field investigation, conventional shallow foundations and ground supported floor slabs bearing on structural fill material (where site grades are raised), natural soils and/or underlying weathered rock are expected to be feasible for the proposed site development. However, portions of the on- site soils included existing fill material. As such, project planning should include at least partial overexcavation and replacement of the existing fill material. Relatively shallow weathered rock and rock and oversized cobbles/boulders were encountered during our subsurface exploration. As such, depending on final site grading plans, project planning should include the need for difficult excavation to remove weathered rock/rock and oversized materials. Due to the subsurface conditions encountered, Dynamic Earth should remain involved as the design progresses to review the potential impacts to the recommendations detailed herein and/or provide supplemental recommendations for the proposed development. 2.0 PROJECT DETAILS The subject site is located at 2 and 10 Ridge Road in the Township of West Orange, Essex County, New Jersey and is further identified as Block 80.03, Lots 10 and 21. The site is bound to the north and to the east by Mount Pleasant Avenue with residential property beyond; to the south by residential property; and to the west by Ridge Road with commercial property beyond (Brookdale West Orange). The site of the proposed construction is shown on the attached Test Location Plan. At the time of Dynamic Earth’s investigation, the majority of the site was a heavily wooded parcel. Existing stone/brick retaining walls were located within the eastern portion of the site. The proposed site development will include the construction of a residential subdivision with approximately four to five single-family homes with associated pavements and utilities the location and size of the residential homes were not provided. Stormwater management facilities are planned throughout the subject site. Proposed site development details were provided on an April 8,

e location and size of the residential homes were not provided. Stormwater management facilities are planned throughout the subject site. Proposed site development details were provided on an April 8, 2022 Conceptual Plan ‘A’ prepared by Dynamic Engineering Consultants, PC (Dynamic). While site grading plans were not developed at this time, we preliminarily assume typical earth cuts and fills on the order of approximately five to seven feet will be required as part of the site development. Topographic information was provided on a May 11, 2022 ALTA/NSPS Land Title Survey prepared by Dynamic Survey, LLC. Existing site elevations range between approximately 625.0 feet within SHI Builders 1 4266-99-001E
