Page 141 1 ahead. 2 THE WITNESS: Moving down towards the 3 entrance, the first entrance here on Mount Pleasant, 4 there's a couple of improvements that happen. So we 5 do have the fence line that's coming in, the 6 removal, and the construction of the new one. These 7 trees are right on top of that. 8 ACTING CHAIR SCHWARZBAUM: What about 9 4135? Do you have that one? 10 THE WITNESS: Yeah, there's additional 11 underground -- or stormwater improvements that are 12 happening here. So there's excavation happening in 13 this area. 14 ACTING CHAIR SCHWARZBAUM: Okay. 15 THE WITNESS: So I've got one, two, three, 16 four, five, six. Got 13 on that side. And then 17 it's a similar condition on the left side of the 18 entry. 19 ACTING CHAIR SCHWARZBAUM: So the 13 -- 20 just go back. So the 13 is due to -- 21 THE WITNESS: I have a stormwater basin 22 here with the proposed work. We have the fence line 23 that's being changed, removed and replaced here. So 24 there's going to be a lot of -- 25 ACTING CHAIR SCHWARZBAUM: How much area

Page 142

Page 142 1 do you need between the fence line and a tree? 2 THE WITNESS: I would be comfortable 3 probably with at least 10 to 15 feet, ideally. We 4 are installing tree protection, so as we do go 5 around, we do note tree protection around here. So 6 that will help. 7 But when you get on top of the fence, in 8 this case -- and especially around the main 9 entrance, because you're going to have work here and 10 you're going to have work here. So the reality of 11 these trees is that the root systems for these are 12 spreading out probably into this entire area. 13 That's what I would expect. 14 So between the work that's happening for 15 the detention basin, the work that's happening for 16 the fence line, it's very constrained here. It will 17 be damaging a pretty good percentage of the root 18 systems of these trees. So they will be very 19 detrimentally impacted by this work for long-term 20 life. 21 And it's a similar condition on the 22 left-hand side. There's an additional one, two, 23 three, four -- 24 ACTING CHAIR SCHWARZBAUM: So 4540 -- 4540 25 is not being removed?

Page 143

Page 143 1 THE WITNESS: 4540. 2 ACTING CHAIR SCHWARZBAUM: That's -- 3 THE WITNESS: This one is not, no. 4 There's a stormwater line that's coming here to a 5 catch basin -- to a manhole, I should say, and 6 connecting out to the street. So that's very close 7 to some underground excavation. 8 ACTING CHAIR SCHWARZBAUM: Okay. 9 THE WITNESS: And, similarly, this one 10 here. There's also some stormwater line that's 11 going in here. That's really the furthest that we 12 go. Everything to the west of that is being 13 preserved. 14 ACTING CHAIR SCHWARZBAUM: Okay. So 4568 15 is a storm, is -- 16 THE WITNESS: Is due to a stormwater line, 17 correct. 18 ACTING CHAIR SCHWARZBAUM: Okay. All 19 right. Gotcha. Okay. 20 You know what? We'll, I guess -- let's 21 see. We're at -- 22 MS. PORTER: Yeah, we're close to -- 23 ACTING CHAIR SCHWARZBAUM: It's 11:07. 24 MS. PORTER: I know you said about 11:10. 25 ACTING CHAIR SCHWARZBAUM: Yeah.

Page 144

Page 144 1 MS. PORTER: And we're within three 2 minutes of that. 3 ACTING CHAIR SCHWARZBAUM: Okay. So what 4 I am going to propose is that we adjourn the meeting 5 and that we continue at the next meeting with 6 questions, beginning with questions from the Board. 7 Okay? 8 COMMISSIONER SCOTT: Very good. 9 ACTING CHAIR SCHWARZBAUM: Okay? 10 MR. FISHER: Just to be clear, that is on 11 the 19th at 8 p.m. and no further notice will be 12 required. If you'd like to speak regarding the 13 application, that is the time to come back and do 14 it. 15 ACTING CHAIR SCHWARZBAUM: Right. Thank 16 you. Have a good evening. Thank you. 17 COMMISSIONER SCOTT: All right. 18 MS. PORTER: Thank you very much. 19 ACTING CHAIR SCHWARZBAUM: Thank you. 20 Bye. 21 MR. HESS: See you all in a week. 22 COMMISSIONER SUSSMAN: Good night, 23 everybody. 24 (Whereupon, the hearing on this 25 application was adjourned at 11:09 p.m.)
