Please note that the buildings are placed 3 for electric functionality. This is obviously not a 4 commercial shopping mall or anything where you have 5 buildings placed next to each other for different 6 needs. The buildings here are often closer together 7 for electric needs. 8 So that concludes the five variances that 9 we're looking for. Now I'd like to -- 10 CHAIRMAN NEUER: Ms. Porter, it's going to 11 be very difficult for a Board to grant a variance that 12 says plus everything else that's wrong with the site. 13 MR. PORTER: Correct. So -- 14 CHAIRMAN NEUER: We really do need a list 15 of what Ms. Merainer is talking about. 16 MR. PORTER: Yes. So these are 17 pre-existing non-conformities. So we're essentially 18 seeking a continuation, but to the extent that the 19 Board would like a specific list of what those are they 20 are identified on the plan but we can certainly provide 21 that. 22 CHAIRMAN NEUER: That would be very 23 helpful. Thank you. 24 THE WITNESS: Just to reiterate, I believe 25 the only one would be the distance between buildings. Page 87 1 Now I'm showing you yet another version of 2 the fence. What we intend to do is match the proposed 3 pillars to the brick that currently exists on the 4 building at West Orange. We tried to match the two. 5 In this case you're looking at more of a brown tone. 6 We intend to use more of a red tone that will match the 7 building. 8 So this is a site in Jersey City, and you 9 can see the substation is opposite a high-priced 10 residential building. You can see that these pillars 11 look to be more like 9-feet high. I am just showing 12 this as an example of the sort of thing that we've done 13 before. That's why we are asking for the fence, 14 specifically the pillar and the pillar cap to be more 15 than 8 feet. We recognize that your ordinance is only 16 6 feet. And this is a substation in Plainfield, New 17 Jersey. This is where you can see the fence. 18 So I will stop sharing. This was merely to 19 give you an idea of the sort of fences that we have 20 done. We have about 50 stations with such fences in 21 our service territory. 22 CHAIRMAN NEUER: You need to pan back. 23 MR. PORTER: Your camera, it's blurry and 24 it's not on your face. 25 CHAIRMAN NEUER: There you

ut 50 stations with such fences in 21 our service territory. 22 CHAIRMAN NEUER: You need to pan back. 23 MR. PORTER: Your camera, it's blurry and 24 it's not on your face. 25 CHAIRMAN NEUER: There you go. Page 86 1 If you'll allow me, I'd like to share my screen for a 2 moment and I'd like to show you some photos of what we 3 have done in other cases. What you are looking at 4 right now is one of our -- 5 CHAIRMAN NEUER: We're looking at a blank 6 screen. 7 MR. PORTER: It's not up yet. 8 THE WITNESS: How is it not sharing? 9 CHAIRMAN NEUER: There it is. 10 THE WITNESS: Okay. What you are looking 11 at right now is one of our stations in Jersey City. 12 You can see that we have the brick pillars. The brick 13 pillars have little caps on them. That fence is a 14 8-foot high fence. That is the Impasse Gaunlet style 15 that is our standard for fences. However, as you know 16 we are using stronghold. But this give you an idea 17 what the fence and pillars look like. 18 The reason we're asking for 9 feet is 19 because I need a little cap on top of that pillar. We 20 don't know exactly how big that little cap will be. 21 That's why I'm asking for more than 8 feet, not to 22 exceed 9 feet. 23 Now I'm showing you another station in 24 Jersey City. This is our Garfield Avenue Substation. 25 And you can see the fence and you can see the pillar. Page 88 1 THE WITNESS: Sorry. 2 MR. WARNER: Mr. Chairman, I apologize for 3 interrupting but do we wish to mark those pictures as 4 Exhibits A-8 through A-12? 5 CHAIRMAN NEUER: I was getting to that. 6 Okay. Ms. Merainer, do you know who took the pictures? 7 THE WITNESS: Yes, I did. 8 CHAIRMAN NEUER: Do you know what dates 9 they were taken? 10 THE WITNESS: Yes. In fact, I will be 11 sending an e-mail to Ms. Chandler and each file is 12 listed with the date the photo was taken. 13 CHAIRMAN NEUER: And do they fairly depict 14 the conditions on that location on the dates that the 15 pictures were taken? 16 THE WITNESS: They do. 17 CHAIRMAN NEUER: Then as Mr. Warner had 18 subjected, Ms. Chandler, those are Exhibits A-8 through 19 12 for Identification. 20 (Exhibits A-8 through A-12, photographs, 21 are received and marked.) 22 THE WITNESS: And Ms. Chandler, I will be 23 emailing these to you. 24 MS. CHANDLER: Thank you. 25 CHAIRMAN NEUER: Diana, they can be put on
