160-13 August 20, 2013 RESOLUTION Third Party Billing for Emergency Transport WHEREAS, the Township of West Orange through the West Orange Fire Department provide emergency ambulance transport service to the residents, visitors and travelers in West Orange; and WHEREAS, the providing of such services by the Fire Department generates a substantial annual cost which can be off set by charging the medical insurance companies a user fee for ambulance transport services; and WHEREAS, this bid was advertised as a competitive contract pursuant New Jersey Local Contract Law N.J.S.A. 40A:11-4.1 and at the said date, time and place the Township did receive three (3) bids; and WHEREAS, a committee was formed to evaluate and rank said bids to select the most advantageous company to collect these charges for the Township; and WHEREAS, Revenue Guard ranked the most advantageous company to collect said billable services and Township committee verified that the successful bidder is both responsive and responsible with the bid specifications; and WHEREAS, the commission rate for Revenue Guard is as follows: 5% $ 0 up to $101,000.00 10% $101,001.00 up to $201,000.00 12.5% $201,001.00 up to $301,000.00 15% $301,001 up to $1,000,000.00 plus NOW, THEREFORE BE IT RESOLVED by the Municipal Council of the Township of West Orange that a contract be awarded to Revenue Guard, 50 Route 9 North, Morganville, New Jersey 07751. BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that a copy of this resolution be published in the West Orange Chronicle within ten (10) days of adoption. Karen J.
