136-22 May 24, 2022 R E S O L U T I O N WHEREAS by the Township Council of the Township of West Orange, County of Essex, State of New Jersey, that the contract for TREE REMOVAL SERVICES in the Township of West Orange, in accordance with the plans and specifications on file in the Engineering Division of the Department of Public Works, dated August 2019, approved by the Township Council, by Resolution No. 265-19 dated November 12, 2019, pursuant to an advertisement duly authorized therefore, awarded to the below named bidder for a one year period commencing January 1, 2020 with an option for two additional one year periods be extended; and WHEREAS, by Resolution No. 144-21, dated June 22, 2021 the contract was extended for an additional one-year period commencing January 1, 2021; and WHEREAS, by letter dated May 6, 2022, the Municipal Engineer requests that the contract be extended for an additional one-year period commencing January 1, 2022 to: RICH TREE SERVICE, INC. 325 BERGEN STREET SOUTH PLAINFIELD, NEW JERSEY 07080 Who submitted the lowest responsible bid for all six tree sizes specified. BE IT RESOLVED that the following unit prices be awarded by tree size: Tree Size Unit Price Less than 16” $ 50.00 16” – 23” $ 370.00 24” – 30” $ 750.00 31” – 36” $ 950.00 37” – 41” $1,575.00 53” + $4,200.00 75’ Bucket truck, 12 c.y. chipping $ 250.00/hr. Body 14” capacity brush chipper and (3) men crew

(1) 7-ton log loading crane and $ 80.00/hr. Operator (1) 2-men brush chipping crew $ 175.00/hr. With brush chipper and 12 c.y. Chipper truck (1) 20 ton 100’ tree crane with $ 200.00/hr. NJ Certified Operator, Climber and Grounds person (1) 30 h.p. or larger stump grinder $ 50.00/hr. BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that this award is subject to a 2022 Budget appropriation for contractual tree services and that the authorization to perform the work specified above is contingent upon the execution of a valid purchase order between the Township and the vendor(s) prior to the commencement of the work.
