Slack Environmental Services 4180 Market Street Kenilworth, NJ 07033 Re: 1-2,000 Galion, Diesel Stip3 Underground Storage Tank Cherry Lane Pump Station Cherry Lane West Orange, NJ 07052 Dear Sir/Madam, Enclosed please find the result of the EZY3 Locator Plus acoustic precision evaluation performed on the 2,000 gallon, diesel fuel oil underground storage tank and associated piping located at the above referenced property. All tank evaluations conform to U.S.E.P.A. and N.J.D.E.P. tank testing criteria and the results are as follows: DATE TANK RESULT (PASS/FAIL) 41/10/21 2,000 gallon diesel FAIL The tank contained 41.00" of fuel and 0.0" of water at the time of the test. The acoustical profile indicates a leak above or below the liquid level is the cause of the test failure. If this tank is to remain in service the tank must be investigated to determine the exact cause of the test failure. Examples of leaks are: corroded or loose - fill pipes, air vent pipes, compression fittings and/or corrosion holes in the tank itself. Possible options for investigating the cause of failure are: uncovering the tank top and inspecting all the piping and connections, isolating the tank from the piping and retesting the tank separately. If repairs are made, the tank must be retested to ensure integrity of the tank and associated piping for the tank to remain in service. Sometimes the expense to perform this work is costly and replacement of the tank may be warranted. If you choose to investigate the reason for the failure via isolation test, please contact us when the tank top is completely excavated so that a retest can be performed before the tank is backfilled. This allows us to thoroughly Investigate the tank system before the tank is put back in service. Accurate recommends isolating piping at sump and retesting tank.
