Show all pages• Developed operating and strategic plans for transfer stations and landfill operation in Hong Kong District Manager-Bronx, New York 2001-2004 • Responsible for managing all aspects of Gunhill Transfer Station and Harlem River Yard(HRY), Waste Management Bronx Transfer Stations • HRY was a 24hr MSW Transfer station with a 3,000 tons per day permit o Responsible for 35 employee operations, including loading and shipping waste by rail. • Conduct daily, weekly and monthly safety and compliance trainings o Worked with CSX Railroad to design service plan for Waste Management o Worked with regulatory agencies, New York State DEC and NYC Sanitation Department to successfully increase HRY permit from 3,000 tons per day to 4,000 tons per day o Processed over one million tons through HRY in one year, loading 11,000 plus rail cars o Actively involved in Community Relations and partnerships with multiple community leaders in South Bronx. South Bronx Overall Economic Development Corp (SOBRO), Friends of Brook Park, Hunts Point Economic Development Corp. and Sustainable South Bronx. All of these groups supported the HRY permit expansion described above. o Worked with NYC Management team to certify HRY as a Wildlife Habitat Certification Facility, which was the first of its kind in New York City. Facility Manager -Gunhill Conslruclion Debris Transfer Station 1992-2001 o After being hired in 1992 as a supervisor was promoted to facility manager in 1999. o Partnered with engineeriAg stafftQ complete multi-million dollar facility rehabilitation project. o Responsible for all aspects of transfer Station operation including safety and compliance • Developed and implemented new safety training procedures o Processed 700-1000 tons a day of C&D to recycle wood, rock, metals, tires, cardboard • Responsible for weekly scheduling of 10-12 employee recycling
