Design considerations for the removal of existing brick paver crosswalks and sidewalks C. Construction of stamped asphalt crosswalks and stamp concrete sidewalk D. Construction of ADA compliant curb ramps E. Pavement striping F. New traffic signs as necessary G. Resolve existing drainage issues at various crosswalk crossings H. Reset drainage structures, manhole castings, frames and covers as necessary. I. Coordinate with the Township Traffic Bureau and Essex County for a comprehensive Traffic Control Plans J. Prepare construction details; K. Plan Set to include but not limited to Cover Sheet, Existing Conditions/Survey Control Plan, Demolition Plan, Construction Plan, Curb Ramp Details, Soil Erosion and Sediment Control Plan and Details, Traffic Control Plans and Construction Details; L. Include four (4) meetings with the Township Officials for Kickoff/Field, Preliminary Design, Public Presentation and Final Design; M. Bid Package that includes bid set of plans and construction specifications in accordance with public bidding laws. N. Bidding documents (plans and specifications) are to be part of the deliverables to the Township via AutoCAD, hard copy and PDF files. Aerial maps with project areas delineated are enclosed. Township will supply Main St. Crosswalks Construction Plans from previous project. The cost of services shall be for a complete design and two (2) separate bid packages including cost estimates for based bid and alternates, plans, specifications and bid documents (twenty copies) for bidding purposes including detour plans. All plan specifications and bid documents shall be in conformance with the latest New Jersey Department of Transportation specifications. Proposals shall be on a lump sum basis. Hourly rates shall be submitted with all proposals for any additional work. It is the intent of this office to advertise for bids as follows: Phase I Main Street Corridor Crosswalks and Sidewalks Improvements advertise for bids by Early Spring 2024 for construction to commence in the Spring of 2024. Phase II Main Street Corridor Crosswalks and Sidewalks Improvements advertise for bids by Early Summer 2024 for construction to commence in the Fall of 2024.
