The following is a listing of the most recent Maplewood Township experience: Springfield Avenue Mid-Block Crosswalk • Located between Boyden Avenue and Burnett Avenue. • Constructed curb bumpouts to shorten the pedestrian crosswalk length and make pedestrians more visible to drivers. • Installed push button activated LED flashing pedestrian crossing signs to alert drivers of crossing pedestrians. • Burnett Avenue Rapid Rectangular Flashing Beacons (RRFB) • Located at three crosswalks along Burnett Avenue connecting to Dehart Park. • Prepared construction bidding documents including construction cost estimate, project specifications, and construction plans. • Installed push button activated solar RRFB’s on both sides of the crosswalk with the appropriate pedestrian crossing signing. • Reconstructed sidewalk and pedestrian curb ramps to meet Americans with Disabilities Act (ADA) standards. Community Development Block Group Project • Located around Memorial Park and the Maplewood Township Department of Public Works (DPW) Building. • Utilized Public Right-of-Way ADA Guidelines (PROWAG) for all curb ramps located surrounding Memorial Park and ADA Accessibility Guidelines (ADAAG) for the DPW Building. • Prepared construction bidding documents including construction cost estimate, project specifications, and construction plans.
