TIM PACE, PE Geotechnical & Structural Engineering Professional Qualifications Tim Pace has more than eight years of field/design experience in the areas of civil, structural, and geotechnical engineering as well as AutoCAD drafting. Tim’s experience includes soil sampling/logging for multiple projects across New York and New Jersey, foundation and retaining wall design, various industrial/residential piping and utility design, observation well inspection and water permeability testing. He also has extensive experience in the preparation of geotechnical reports, which include subsurface classifications, soil properties (bearing capacity, settlement, sliding, overturning) and foundation recommendations in accordance with the International Building Code and New York City Building Code. Professional Experience Ironstate Development, 100 Monitor Street, Jersey City, NJ – Contracted by Ironstate Development to perform exterior foundation and wall inspections of properties immediately adjacent to 100 Monitor Street in Jersey City, NJ. The purpose of this inspection was to observe and record any structural defects to the existing buildings around the project lot prior to commencement of construction. Project involved a detailed report marking significant damages to building foundations, as well as a photo log to visually record any observed damage. Town of Secaucus, Street Reconstruction, Secaucus, NJ – Field Engineer responsible for the inspection of the reconstruction of multiple streets throughout Secaucus, New Jersey. Tim oversaw the demolition and construction of the sidewalks, curbs, and streets of the various streets under contract. This project also involved coordination with multiple utility companies, as well as town officials, to assure the street redevelopment was completed with minimal disturbance to the public, and that the finished street elements met all code standards. Coney Island Infrastructure - Soil Sampling & Boring Logs, Brooklyn, NY– Engineering Technician in charge of oversight and classification of multiple soil borings on site in Coney Island, Brooklyn. As a subcontractor for Mueser Rutledge, Tim’s field responsibilities included collection, classification, and logging of soil samples taken at varying depths and at numerous borehole locations. classification, and logging of soil samples taken at varying depths and at numerous borehole locations. Supervision of correct drilling practice (including safety precautions) by the assigned drilling team from Aquifer Drilling and Testing was also a significant aspect of the project. Off site, Tim was involved with finalizing the soil classifications along with the input of field logs into gINT – a computer program used to clearly organize, and display soil strata breaks and other essential soil properties for the site. Tim was also ultimately responsible for the transport of soil samples to Mueser Rutledge for further lab work. New Jersey Transit, Meadows Maintenance Complex, Kearny, NJ – Field Engineer responsible for inspection of a soil boring investigation. Included in the project were the creation of soil boring logs, classification of in-situ soils, as well as recommendations for foundation types and bearing capacities for proposed transformer platforms and flood wall at the site.
