These design projects include: construction and/or reconstruction of roadways; intersection and traffic signal improvements; intersection and traffic signal improvements; site plan layouts; sanitary sewer, storm sewer and potable water distribution system installation and improvements; and parks and recreation facilities. Specific responsibilities relative to the above mentioned projects include: initial site feasibility studies for design; design of roadway layouts including grading, vertical and horizontal curves, cross sections, and earthwork calculations; traffic studies including data collection and analysis; analyzation of signalized and unsignalized intersections using HCS software; geometric intersection design in accordance with AASHTO standards; traffic signal design in accordance with MUTCD and NJDOT standards; warrant analyses in accordance with MUTCD; development of traffic control plans according to MUTCD; design of ADA compliant curb ramps; quantity calculations; preparation of construction cost estimates and scheduling; the design of storm drainage systems (TR-55 and Rational Methods); design of sanitary sewer systems (capacity analysis and line sizing); design of potable water systems; preparation of soil erosion and sediment control plans; culvert, hydrologic, and hydraulic analyses; and coordination, scheduling and filing of permit applications to County and State agencies. Duties also include construction administration for these projects, including shop drawing review and construction management. Municipal Engineer duties include: reviewing of major/ minor subdivisions and site plans of residential and commercial developments for Municipal Zoning and Planning Boards for compliance with all Municipal standards, and preparation of reports thereof; preparation
