By providing full-service engineering and landscape architectural services that range from preliminary site assessment and investigation to conceptual layout and design to development of detailed site drawings and construction specifications, Matrix combines architectural design skills with the scientific principles of engineering and the broad development knowledge of urban planning to develop aesthetic and practical relationships with the land. Client satisfaction is always our main goal and thus we ensure that staff availability and qualifications are never a compromise. A primary contact and project manager will provide a direct link between Matrix personnel and the Township of West Orange (Township) for consistent direction and collaboration, but the entirety of Matrix’s staff and management are available when needed or warranted. Our current workload is steady yet flexible. We prefer to maintain control over our growth and make sure we are never over- or under-staffed. We presently have sufficient capacity to give the Township our undivided attention to meet project goals and deadlines, and we do not anticipate any change to this for the duration of the project. We also plan to utilize the same managers and staff throughout the project to ensure consistency. Matrix acknowledges the schedule that was outlined in the RFP. We will make every effort to meet the schedule and notify the Township if we anticipate any deviations from the schedule. It is our understanding that the Township wishes to improve the area around Crystal Lake and provide some upgrades to the Oskar Schindler Performing Arts Center (OSPAC) space. The elements that may be incorporated into the design are as follows: Crystal Lake Reconstruct/repair the approximately half mile walking path around the perimeter of the lake Provide lighting for the walking path. tely half mile walking path around the perimeter of the lake Provide lighting for the walking path. Due to the shallow bedrock visible at the site, we recommend providing low voltage lighting (bollard type) for the walkway to limit the amount of excavation that would be required. Provide additional site benches and trash receptacle along the walking path. Locate a small, prefabricated shade structure with seating. We recommend this is located at the paver plaza area to take advantage of the views across the lake. Locate and design a floating dock that could be used for fishing and boating on the lake. The dock should be located at the paver plaza area. A small concrete wall already exists at the edge of the lake in this area. Replacement of the small pedestrian bridge. This could be potentially eliminated by routing pedestrians to the sidewalk along Boland Drive. 1
