LEGISLATIVE HISTORY This Ordinance amends Chapter 7, Subsection 29.1, Subsection 30, and Subsection 7-10.2 of the Revised General Ordinances. The ordinance establishes a 20 M.P.H. speed limit on Woodland Avenue, Forest Avenue, Ellis Street, and Redwood Avenue on weekdays between 8AM-10AM and 3PM-5PM in the vicinity of Redwood School when children are normally present. The ordinance deletes a mid-block crossing on Redwood Avenue that has been moved previously to Redwood Avenue and Cannon Street. The ordinance establishes No Stopping or Standing Zones on Woodland Avenue, Redwood Avenue, and Nicholas Avenue during school drop off and pickup hours where parents have been circumventing the established drop off procedure at Redwood School by parking on neighboring streets and creating a safety hazard. This change is part of a larger program improving visibility and safety within the Redwood School Zone. At all other times, the speed limit on these listed streets will remain at 25 M.P.H.
