Hermann PE, PP, CME Director Site Civil Engineering & Landscape Architecture Education Rutgers University, College of Engineering: B.S., Civil Engineering/1996 Credentials Professional Engineer: New Jersey Professional Planner: New Jersey Certified Municipal Engineer: New Jersey Mr. Hermann has 27 years of design and regulatory experience in a wide variety of civil engineering projects related to pre-construction permitting and coordination, municipal infrastructure design, site development, urban redevelopment, roadway design, and recreational field design. Design tasks include site permitting, concept planning, utility design and layout, stormwater management design, horizontal and vertical roadway design, lot geometry and grading. 12 years of his career were spent working as a consulting engineer for various municipalities in New Jersey, where extensive experience was gained in the design of municipal infrastructure improvements as well as the municipal approval procedure, by acting as Board Consulting Engineer for various Boards in New Jersey resulting in a clear understanding of how to move a project through the municipal review process and the review and approval process for utilities and other jurisdictional agencies to construction. In addition, Mr. Hermann, having designed multiple recreational fields, has extensive experience in the design and permitting of natural and synthetic turf fields. Relevant Experience New Building and Site Improvements at Independence Park – Newark NJ: Provided civil engineering and project management support for the project which included the redevelopment of portions of an existing park with a new community center with associated driveway, walkways and community recreational grove area and a synthetic turf recreational field. Services included the coordinating the site layout with the project architect and the design of grading and stormwater management improvements including green infrastructure BMPs to control stormwater runoff from the redeveloped portions of the park. PS&S was involved in the project from the conceptual stage for the community building through the design phase of the building, field and associated improvements, to performing construction administration services for the construction of the community building and associated improvements. Rifle Camp Park Amphitheater Replacement Project – Passaic, NJ: Provided civil engineering support to the Landscape Architect for the preparation of construction plans for the replacement of an exiting amphitheater at the Passaic County Park. The scope of work included the grading design of the site to provide stadium type of seating, drainage design, and ADA parking stall and amphitheater access driveway design. The amphitheater was designed so as to be coordinated with the existing park pedestrian network and provides a space that will be utilized by the surrounding neighborhood for cultural events, performances, and community gatherings. www.psands.com Gill St. Bernard’s, Synthetic Turf Field – Peapack-Gladstone, NJ*: Prepared construction plans for the construction of a synthetic turf field for the school. The project included the removal of the existing natural turf field within a track and the installation of a synthetic turf field. The design included preparation of field layout plans, grading, a drainage plan that utilized existing stormwater management infrastructure including an existing above ground detention basin that required analysis and alterations in order to meet the NJDEP Stormwater and borough ordinance stormwater requirements. All permits to construct the field, including a soil erosion and sediment control plan certification were obtained. Coordinated with the contractor and agencies with jurisdiction and provided construction administration services from the start of construction to the final construction sign off. *Work performed prior to joining PS&S
