17-26 January 6, 2026 RESOLUTION APPOINTING LOUIS ULRICH AS DIRECTOR OF THE DEPARMENT OF PUBLIC WORKS WHEREAS, N.J.S.A. 40A:9-154.6(g) requires that the governing body shall appoint a principal public works manager for that municipality; and WHEREAS, the Township of West Orange has a need for a director of the department of public works; and WHEREAS, pursuant to § 2-2.2 of the Township of West Orange Municipal Code, the Mayor shall appoint the Director of each Department; WHEREAS, since November 1, 2025, and due to retirement, the position of Director of Department of Public Works has been vacant; and WHEREAS, the Township has previously budgeted for the Director of the Department of Public Works; and WHEREAS, the Mayor is hereby appointing Louis Ulrich to serve as the Director of the Department of Public Works pursuant to § 2-2.2 of the Township Code; NOW THEREFORE BE IT RESOLVED, by the West Orange Township Council that Louis Ulrich is hereby appointed as the Township Director of Department of Public Works effective January 26, 2026; and BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED, that Louis Ulrich be compensated in accordance with the Township’s approved budget and Salary Ordinance.
