175-26 July 7, 2026 RESOLUTION WHEREAS, Township Ordinance 1115-92 grants to this Township Council the discretion to reimburse the owners of one – family residential dwellings who do not receive garbage collection services from the Township of West Orange for the costs in an amount equal to the actual cost of private garbage collection or equal to the estimate of the cost to the Township if they were to provide said services, whichever is lower; and WHEREAS, this council desires to reimburse those home owner associations or individuals; who have complied with the terms of Ordinance 1115-92, for the cost of private garbage collection for the period of January 1, 2024-December 31, 2025; and WHEREAS, there is attached here to and, made part here a report of the Chief Financial Officer detailing the names of those who have filed for reimbursement and the sum of monies the applicants are entitled to for the period of January 1, 2024 through December 31, 2025; and NOW, THEREFORE BE IT RESOLVED BY THE TOWNSHIP COUNCIL OF THE TOWNSHIP OF WEST ORANGE, that the private home owners associations or individuals set forth in the attached report of the Chief Financial Officer and those who subsequently apply be paid the sums set forth therein as reimbursement for their costs of private garbage collection for the period of January 1, 2024 through December 31, 2025; and NOW, THEREFORE BE IT RESOLVED that the Chief Financial Officer issue the appropriate check to comply with this resolution as soon as is feasible. 176-26 July 7, 2026 FOR PURCHASE OF FIREFIGHTER PPE GEAR UNDER NJ STATE CONTRACT #T0790 WHEREAS, the Township of West Orange Fire Department has five new probationary firefighters that shall supply PPE gear to, and also to replace existing employee’s PPE gear which is damaged or worn equipment; and WHEREAS, the State Contract authorized dealer can supply the Township with all the Fire Departments requirements under its state contract #T0790 for Firefighter Protective Clothing, Equipment and Supplies; and WHEREAS, pursuant to the provision of N.J.S.A. 40A: 11-12, a Contracting Unit may, without advertising for bids, purchase any materials, supplies or equipment under any contract or contracts for such materials, supplies or equipment entered into on behalf of the State by the Division of Purchase and Property in the Department of the Treasury. NOW BE IT RESOLVED, by the Municipal Council of the Township of West Orange hereby authorizes the purchase of Firefighter PPE from Firefighter One, 34 Wilson Drive, Sparta, NJ 07871 an authorized dealer for the above contract in the amount of not to exceed $58,276.00. BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED, by the Municipal Council of the Township of West Orange that this resolution together with a property executed purchase order shall constitute an agreement between the Township and Firefighter One subject to all conditions applicable to the current State Contract.
