609.04 MEASUREMENT AND PAYMENT The Department will measure and make payment for Items as follows: THE FOLLOWING PAY ITEMS ARE ADDED: Pay Item Pay Unit BEAM GUIDE RAIL, BRIDGE LINEAR FEET CONTROLLED RELEASE TERMINAL UNIT REMOVAL OF BEAM GUIDE RAIL UNIT SECTION 610 — TRAFFIC STRIPES, TRAFFIC MARKINGS, AND RUMBLE STRIPS 610.01 DESCRIPTION THE FOLLOWING IS ADDED: On Township of West Orange roads, extruded thermoplastic, as specified in Section 610.03.02, shall be used for long line traffic stripes, traffic marking lines, and traffic markings symbols. The only exception to this will be when the project calls specifically for the installation of tape or preformed symbols. The use of Epoxy traffic stripes, as specified in Section 610.03.01, is limited to concrete bridge decks, as detailed, or locations as maybe called for specifically on the Contract plans. 610.02 Materials THE FOLLOWING IS DELETED Material and equipment for TRAFFIC MARKINGS SYMBOLS, VARIOUS shall be in accordance with this section. 610.03,.02 Traffic Marking Lines, Traffic Marking Symbols, and Traffic Marking Route Symbols THIS SECTION IS CHANGED TO: 610.03.02 Traffic Markings Lines, Traffic Markings Symbols, Various, and Traffic Markings Symbols THE FOLLOWING IS ADDED TO THE BEGINNING: The pigment, beads, and fillers shall be well dispersed in the binder. The material shall be free from all skins, dirt, foreign matter, and other deleterious substances, and shall be of such composition that it will not bleed, stain or discolor when applied to pavements. Thermoplastic material shall not emit fumes which are toxic or injurious to persons or property when it is heated to application temperature. The material shall not emit excessive smoke during heating and application. Prior to installing permanent striping, the contractor shall verify no water ponding conditions exist throughout the limits of the project. On resurfacing projects and reconstruction projects with lanes open to traffic, permanent striping on the new surface course must be installed within 3 days of the installation of the HMA surface course. THE FOLLOWING SUBPARTS ARE ADDED: H. Hot Spray Thermoplastic. Test strips will be as directed by the RE and in accordance with procedures outlined in subsection 610.03.02 item G.
