176-22 July 19, 2022 RESOLUTION APPROVING THE APPOINTMENT OF TAX COLLECTOR WHEREAS, N.J.S.A. 40A:9-142 requires that every Municipal Tax Collector shall hold office for a term of four (4) years, or, in the case of a vacancy for the remainder of the unexpired term; and WHEREAS, the Township of West Orange has a vacancy in the Tax Collector position, a term which expires December 31, 2025; and WHEREAS, it is the desire of the Governing Body that Kathy Longo be appointed as Tax Collector for the Township of West Orange, commencing July 1, 2022 for the remainder of the unexpired term; and BE IT RESOLVED by the Governing Body of the Township of West Orange, New Jersey that Kathy Longo is hereby appointed as Tax Collector of the Township of West Orange for the remainder of the unexpired term commencing July 1, 2022 as per N.J.S.A. 40A:9-142; and BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED by the Governing Body of the Township of West Orange, New Jersey that the compensation for this appoint be consistent with the salary ordinance in effect for the position of Tax Collector during the period of the unexpired term.
