1 Conference Meeting – April 25, 2017 The Township Council of the Township of West Orange met in the Council Chambers, Municipal Building, 66 Main Street, West Orange, New Jersey at 6:35 p.m. Fatima Baez- Aguilar, Assistant to the Clerk, read the following statement: This is to inform the general public that this meeting is being held in compliance with Section 5 of the Open Public Meetings Act, Chapter 231, Public Law 1975. The annual notice was emailed to the Star Ledger and filed in the Township Clerk’s office on November 28, 2016 and published in the West Orange Chronicle on December 8, 2016. Roll Call: Present: Councilwoman Casalino, Councilman Cirilo, Councilman Guarino, Councilwoman McCartney and Council President Krakoviak. Council President Krakoviak presented a Mayor’s Proclamation in recognition of World Autism Awareness to the West Orange Public Schools and Garden Academy. In attendance from the West Orange public schools were Jeff Rutzky, Superintendent, Irving Schwarzbaum, Board Vice-President, Constance Salimbeno, Director of Special Services, Kristin Gogerty, Supervisor Special Services, Dawn Ribeiro, Supervisor Special Services and Devon Moloney, Director of Development from Garden Academy. Devon Moloney and Constance Salimbeno, gave a presentation on the programs available in the schools. A presentation was given by Steven J. Neale, Township of Verona, Department of Community Services regarding Sustainable Jersey Solar Challenge options. Mr. Sayers gave an update as to the progress of the Redevelopment project on Main Street.
