1 Conference Meeting – December 14, 2021 The West Orange Township Council met virtually due to the Covid 19 pandemic beginning at 6:51 p.m., Karen Carnevale, Municipal Clerk read the following statement: This is to inform the general public that this meeting is being held in compliance with Section 5 of the Open Public Meetings Act, Chapter 231, Public Law 1975. The annual notice was emailed to the Star Ledger and filed in the Township Clerk’s office on November 30, 2020, and published in the West Orange Chronicle on December 10, 2020. Roll Call – Councilwoman Casalino, Councilwoman McCartney, Councilman Rutherford, Councilwoman Williams, Council President Matute-Brown The meeting was started with a video presentation on the occasion of Jack Sayer’s retirement. The following employees/friends shared their memories of Jack, wishing him well in his retirement: Anthony Puglisi, Richard Trenk, Susan McCartney, Jerry Guarino, Joe Fagan, Pastor Doug Adams, Nick Allegrino, Shari Quirk, Paula Reynolds, Michael Fonzino, Patty Spango, Kate Davenport, Joe Krakoviak, Jacklyn Sayers, Lenny Lepore, Richie Browne, Carolyn Wahlers, Michelle Casalino, Tammy Williams, Bill Rutherford, John Gross, Ken Kayser, Karen Carnevale and Cindy Matute-Brown. On motion made by Council President Matute-Brown and seconded by Councilwoman Casalino, Councilwoman Susan McCartney was selected to be Council President for 2022. Councilwoman Casalino, Councilwoman McCartney, Councilwoman Williams and Council President Matute-Brown voting “Aye.” Councilman Rutherford voting “Nay.” The Council made their Council liaison appointments to each commission.
