Conference Meeting — January 24, 2023 The Conference meeting began at 6:34 p.m., Karen Carnevale, Municipal Clerk read the following statement: This is to inform the general public that this meeting is being held in compliance with Section 5 of the Open Public Meetings Act, Chapter 231, Public Law 1975. The annual notice was emailed to the Star Ledger and filed in the Township Clerk’s office on November 23, 2022 and published in the West Orange Chronicle on December 1, 2022. Roll Call — Councilwoman Casalino, Councilman Rutherford, Councilwoman Scarpa, Council President Williams Absent- Councilwoman Ghebremicael Mayor McCartney presented a Proclamation to Gerald and Roger Schneider on the anniversary of Schneider Hardware recognizing 100 years in the Township. A Proclamation was read by Shana Melius, on behalf of Congressman Donald Payne, celebrating the anniversary and Megan Brill, Executive Director of the Downtown West Orange Alliance presented 2 framed copies of the Mayor’s Proclamation to the Schneider brothers. Council President Williams announced the Community Development Block Grant (CDBG) award recipients for 2022. West Orange received $355,300 to rehabilitate Ashwood Terrace, William Street and Valley Road, for Bethany Center, for Main Street Counseling Center, and for Jesus, Others, Yourself Church of God. The Council gave their Liaison announcements.
