man nods.) 9 COUNCILMAN RUTHERFORD: Mr. Anderson, 10 with regard to sidewalks, the slope exiting -- going 11 down toward Warner, is that ADA or FHA compliant? 12 Is that a steep slope? Is that able -- are those 13 that are wheelchair-bound able to traverse that 14 safely? 15 MR. ANDERSON: Which area are you 16 speaking of? 17 COUNCILMAN RUTHERFORD: The sidewalk 18 exiting the community connecting with Warner. 19 MR. ANDERSON: Okay, so the sidewalk 20 follows the slope of the road, which is permitted by 21 ADA. When you get to the intersections, the profile 22 of the road levels out to 1 percent and you have 23 crosswalks at that intersection that are compliant 24 with ADA standards. 25 COUNCILMAN RUTHERFORD: I'm very Page 217 1 satisfied with that answer, thank you. I would like 2 to -- are you the proper person -- I should have 3 probably asked this yesterday. Have you 4 incorporated any bioswales or rain gardens into your 5 stormwater management on site? 6 MR. ANDERSON: No, those are usually 7 for smaller -- smaller applications and green 8 technology. So we have green technology is the 9 porous pavement, small-scale infiltration basins and 10 so forth. So those are mechanisms which are used 11 for a little bit larger-sized storm drainage 12 systems. 13 MR. CARDOZA: Into the mic. 14 COUNCILMAN RUTHERFORD: Thank you very 15 much, Mr. Anderson. Thank you, Mr. Chair. 16 CHAIRMAN BAGOFF: Thank you. I have 17 one other thing to throw out there. I'd like the 18 builder to consider this for next time. There will 19 be a next time; I'll tell you about that in a 20 minute. This application has a lot of parking, a 21 lot of people, and we've had other projects do this, 22 that after the project is 30 percent filled, the 23 applicant will provide a jitney to the local bus 24 station and train station in perpetuity, depending 25 on how many people are using it in their complex,
56 (Pages 218 to 221) Page 218 1 make a lot of sense, and it will save cars, and we 2 can work that -- we can work the details out. So 3 consider that. 4 MR. And so I know there's 6 some people observing, it is a day of study and 7 fasting, so I think the Board should be alerted to 8 that, in its own discretion; I'm not sure what -- 9 CHAIRMAN BAGOFF: Can you come on the 10 14th? 11 MR. AFRAN: Yes, the 14th works. 12 CHAIRMAN BAGOFF: Well, we can still 13 have the meeting and Mr. Appel will be here on the 14 14th and you can watch on the -- 15 MR.
