On the top of the decomposed rock.7 THE PUBLIC: I can't understand you.8 THE WITNESS: There was only one location,9 one test pit where water was encountered, otherwise10 water was not encountered.11 THE PUBLIC: And where was that located?12 You said it, I'm sorry, I still can't hear you.13 THE WITNESS: It's not in this boring, it was14 at test pit -- test pit 1 also encountered, as I recall.15 THE PUBLIC: So how many test pits were done16 at the top of the ridge?17 THE WITNESS: I think there was a total three18 or four within the top of the ridge.19 THE PUBLIC: And --20 THE WITNESS: Let me scroll back to the plan.21 THE PUBLIC: To the map.22 THE WITNESS: To the map.23 THE WITNESS: I think that was Page 8.24 THE PUBLIC: How close to the edge of the25 42 ridge were each of those four borings? I know it sounds1 like boring stuff, but I think it's important to know2 and to get on the record. Thank you.3 THE WITNESS: It's in the record.4 THE PUBLIC: I know.5 THE WITNESS: And depends what you describe6 as the top of the ridge, but boring B-1 and test pit 17 and test pit 8 on A line are --8 THE PUBLIC: I'm sorry, could you use a9 pointer and show me. Thank you.10 THE WITNESS: So looking at this line up in11 here.12 THE PUBLIC: Where? Which boring are we13 looking at?14 THE WITNESS: This is LB-1. These two test15 pits are also the top of the slope.16 THE PUBLIC: Are each of those purple, for17 lack of my -- because of my poor eyesight as well,18 circles are each of those test pits?19 THE WITNESS: Or borings. They're a20 combination. So TP are test pits. This is a test pit,21 this is a test pit. This is a test pit. This is a22 boring. This is a boring.23 THE PUBLIC: Okay. So there were four made24 along that parallel. What is that big truncated thing25 43 going up the dead center of the page?1 THE WITNESS: I'm not sure what you're2 referring to.3 THE PUBLIC: The white easement there.4 THE WITNESS: This here, the utility easement5 through here.6 THE PUBLIC: So that is below ground or is7 that at grade?8 THE WITNESS: I believe that's below ground.9 THE PUBLIC: Does anybody know if that's

WITNESS: This here, the utility easement5 through here.6 THE PUBLIC: So that is below ground or is7 that at grade?8 THE WITNESS: I believe that's below ground.9 THE PUBLIC: Does anybody know if that's at10 grade or below ground?11 THE WITNESS: It's below ground.12 THE PUBLIC: Can anyone tell me? It's on13 the map, so I'm wondering.14 THE WITNESS: I'm sorry, I did answer. This15 is a below grade utility easement.16 THE PUBLIC: It's below grade. Do you know17 at what depth?18 THE WITNESS: I don't know.19 THE PUBLIC: Okay.20 So you did test pits going that far away21 from the ridge, and I'm looking at the ridge, and if you22 could scroll up a little bit higher to the second23 parallel. No, the other way. Yup. Yes. Okay. It24 looks like there's some extremely steep areas coming off25 44 the ridge and what's the distance at that sort of little1 point where TP-7 is? Test pit 7. That seems to be2 right at the edge or maybe at the edge of the ridge, is3 that correct?4 THE WITNESS: TP-7 is at the edge. It's a5 relatively flat area in here and then it drops off more6 steeply on this side.7 THE PUBLIC: Okay.8 How far from the edge of that ridge,9 according to your drawing, would that corner of the10 building be? Right near test pit 7.11 THE WITNESS: So this distance from here to12 here is about 13 feet.13 THE PUBLIC: 13. And then did you say 17 up14 above at the other parallel? I think I heard the number15 17 floating around.16 THE WITNESS: No, I don't recall 17. I17 didn't say 17.18 THE PUBLIC: So are you guys going to be19 putting any kind of mesh netting up to hopefully20 withhold some of the potential rock that might split off21 of the face of some of the steeper edges of the ridge?22 THE WITNESS: That was not part of our23 conclusion. Our conclusion is that the slope is stable.24 THE PUBLIC: The slope is stable preblast,25
