1 July 1, 2012 The Inaugural Organization Meeting of the Township Council of the Township of West Orange, was held in the Council Chambers, 66 Main Street, West Orange, New Jersey at 2:00 P.M. After switching the ceremony from outdoors to the Council Chambers due to the heat, the meeting was opened by Municipal Clerk, Karen J. Carnevale, R.M.C. with a welcome to the elected officials and everyone present. The invocation was given by Rabbi Robert L. Tobin, Temple B’Nai Shalom. The National Anthem was sung by Chris Silva. The Clerk read the following statement: “This is to inform the general public that this meeting is being held in compliance with Section 5 of the Open Public Meetings Act, Chapter 231, Public Law, 1975. A notice of this meeting was mailed to the Newark Star Ledger and the West Orange Chronicle on June 16, 2012. A notice of this meeting was also posted on the Bulletin Board in the Municipal Building, West Orange and filed in the Office of the Municipal Clerk of the Township of West Orange on June 16, 2012. Roll Call: Present: Councilman Anderton, Councilman Cirilo, Councilwoman McCartney, Councilman Krakoviak and Council President Spango Absent: None The Certificates of Results of the May 8, 2012 Municipal Election were read by the Municipal Clerk. The framed Certificate of Election was presented to the Honorable Patty Spango. This is to certify that Patty Spango was elected at a Municipal Election and hereunto affixed the Corporate Seal of the Township of West Orange, this first day of July, Two Thousand and Twelve.” S/Karen J. Carnevale, R.M.C. Municipal Clerk This is to certify that Patty Spango was elected at a Municipal Election, held in the Township of West Orange, New Jersey, May 8, 2012 to the Office of Councilmember-At-Large of West Orange and has qualified for said office in the manner required by law. In testimony whereof, I have hereunto set my hand and seal as Municipal Clerk and hereunto affixed the Corporate Seal of the Township of West Orange, this first day of July, Two Thousand and Twelve.” S/Karen J. Carnevale, R.M.C. Municipal Clerk The Honorable John F. McKeon, Assemblyman 27th District, administered the oath of office to Councilwoman Spango. Councilwoman Spango expressed his appreciation to her husband Mike and members of her family, friends and campaign staff for their hard work and support during the election.
