LEPORE Director, Municipal Engineer April 18, 2022 Mayor and Township Council Municipal Building 66 Main Street West Orange, New Jersey 07052 RE: CONTRACT AWARD FOR 2021 VARIOUS ROADS IMPROVEMENTS PROJECT AT LENOX TERRACE, MASSON PLACE AND CRESTMONT ROAD Mayor Parisi, Council President McCartney and Council Members: Pursuant to the advertisement in the Star Ledger on Thursday, March 24, 2022, the Township received eight bids for the project 2021 Various Roads Improvements Project at Lenox Terrace, Masson Place and Crestmont Road on Thursday, April 14, 2022. The work will consist of the milling and resurfacing of all three streets, new granite block curb, ADA accessible ramps at intersections, new driveway aprons, some new sidewalks and new drainage facilities to reduce winter icing. The summary of the eight bids is attached. This project is partially funded with an NIDOT Municipal Aid Grant for FY 2021 in the amount of $505,000.00. Reggio Construction, Inc., 416 E. Central Blvd., Palisades Park, NJ 07650 submitted the lowest bid of $906,394.75. This contractor has performed numerous similar projects for the Township, and their work is very good. I therefore recommend awarding this project in the amount of $906,394.75 to Reggio Construction, Inc. A Resolution of Award is attached subject to the approval of the Township Attorney.
