AN EQUAL OPPORTUNITY EMPLOYER www.westorange.org 246-22 September 20, 2022 R E S O L U T I O N WHEREAS, on Tuesday, August 23, 2022 the Township received bids for the contract “2022- 2023 Snow Plowing, Salting, Removal and Snow Hauling” from three contractors: Grabowski Construction, Inc. of 770 Northfield Avenue, West Orange, NJ; American Asphalt and Trucking, LLC of 818 Summer Avenue, Newark, NJ; and Downes Tree Service of 65 Royal Avenue, Hawthorne, NJ; and WHEREAS, the Municipal Engineer by letter dated September 14, 2022 recommends the award of certain bids and the rejection and rebidding of others and the rebidding on another which had no bids; and WHEREAS, the Municipal Engineer recommends the following award of contracts per the attached Schedule A; and WHEREAS, the Municipal Engineer recommends the rejection and rebidding of the following contracts as per the attached Schedule A; and WHEREAS, the Municipal Engineer recommends the rebidding of the following contract as per the attached Schedule A; and WHEREAS, funding for this service is available in the 2022 operating budget and will be available in the 2023 operating budget; and WHEREAS, the Township Council concurs in the foregoing. NOW THEREFORE BE IT RESOLVED by the Township Council of the Township of West Orange that a contract be awarded for plowing and salting routes to American Asphalt and Trucking, LLC of 818 Summer Avenue, Newark, NJ as per the attached Schedule A and Downes Tree service, Inc. of 65 Royal Avenue, Hawthorne, NJ as per the attached Schedule A and that the bid includes equipment upon request for plowing and removal, loading and hauling and that be awarded to American Asphalt and Trucking, LLC, Downes Tree Service, Inc. and Grabowski Construction, Inc. as per the attached Schedule A.
