SCOPE OF WORK i: TASK 1A Partial Topographic and Existing Condition Surveying And Basemap Services Full topographic survey and boundary survey is not included in the scope of services. GP] will perform Partial Topographic and Existing Condition Survey of all topographic features within the area of the proposed rain garden as shown in the RFP. Additional topographic features will be obtained in the grassed area between the building face and existing curb line around the building. Property lines will be shown from Township Tax Map and County GIS information. GPI will prepare a base map utilizing the existing condition survey data collected, the proposed parking lot island improvements shown on the plans provided in the RFP, and aerial mapping supplemented by field measurements. This basemap will be the basis to prepare a planting plan for the areas identified in the RFP. The work will include the following: = Location of all topographic features within the area of proposed rain garden as shown in the RFP. Additionally, topographic features will be obtained in the grassed area between the building face and existing curb line around the building. = GPIwill utilize the existing condition survey data along with proposed parking lot island location shown on the plans provided in the RFP to prepare a basemap suitable to prepare a planting plan for the areas identified in the RFP. = Inthe area of the proposed rain garden GPI will contract with a Ground Penetrating Radar (GPR)/Utility Investigation vendor to locate and mark out subsurface utilities (storm, water & electric) in the vicinity of the rain garden. Location of all other utilities will be by above ground observations only. = Property lines and right-of-way will be depicted based on the municipal tax map and County GIS information. 2. TASK 1B Ground Penetrating Radar (GPR)/Utility Investigation Ground Penetrating Radar (GPR/Utility Investigation - GPI will arrange for a subcontractor to utilize GPR to mark out any underground utilities in the area of the new rain garden. The underground utility locating firm will provide a Level “B” markout of the area, and provide sketches, ground surface marks, and a summary report of findings. We will locate markings on the ground, which in conjunction with field sketches and reports by the utility locator subcontractor, will be depicted on the existing
ks, and a summary report of findings. We will locate markings on the ground, which in conjunction with field sketches and reports by the utility locator subcontractor, will be depicted on the existing conditions plan. This service will be billed as a reimbursable expense. 3. Landscape Architecture Services A. Landscape plans will be prepared in accordance with Township Ordinances and in coordination with the Township Forrester with respect to species selections. B. Landscape design will be prepared to provide 4 season interest and minimize maintenance requirements. Specifically, the design will focus on the following design elements: i. parking lot islands including shade trees and ground cover perennials. ii. foundation plantings along the building foundations. iii, An Evergreen buffer along the south property line. GPI Scope of Services | Page 3
mo ASSUMPTIONS GPI will design a rain garden adjacent to the building as shown in the RFP. The rain garden will be connected to the existing drainage system. There are several utilities visible in the area of the proposed rain garden such as an electric transformer, storm pipe, bollard lighting and water line. GPI will utilize the GPR to attempt to locate these existing utilities. GP! assumes this rain garden will be a shallow excavated basin without the need of retaining walls. The rain garden will be planted with appropriate plant species and suitable soil medium will be specified. Geotechnical investigation is not included in this proposal. Planting notes, details and specifications will be provided. A plan set will include, but not be limited to, a cover sheet, existing conditions/survey control plan, landscape for parking lot islands, construction, and landscape plans for rain garden and construction details. Construction cost estimate will be provided based on the final design. The design and plan preparation process will be performed in the following 3 phases: i. An initial meeting will be held with Township officials to discuss goals objectives to be included in the design concepts. ii, Based on the above, upland area design will be prepared and presented to Township officials for discussion and input. iii. Final design plans will be prepared based on the above and presented to the Township for discussion and approval. Final deliverable will include the following: i. Bid package that includes bid set of plans and construction specifications in accordance with public bidding laws and, ii. Bidding documents including plans and specifications including AutoCAD, hard copy and PDF files. ¢ Landscaping plan will be based on proposed layout shown on plans prepared by CME Associates contained in the RFP. ¢ We will survey the area of rain garden and use a combination of survey data and proposed design plans contained in the RFP for preparation of base map. e With the exception of the necessary connections for rain garden, no storm water design or modifications will be required. GPI Utility relocation, if required, will be by others. If required, electrical or lighting design will be by others. Rain garden will connect to existing storm drainage system. As-built survey, if required, will be by others. No landscape planting at tennis court area. The
