93-2493-24 SECTION 1 Scope of Services / Fee Schedule Greenman-Pedersen, Inc. (GPI) understands that the Township of West Orange requires architectural and surveying services necessary for the Landscape Improvements at 10 Rooney Circle Project. Throughout the firm's 58-year history we have provided capital improvement project design to dozens of New Jersey municipalities. Our Landscape Architectural team’s approach to landscape design and park and recreational planning and development goes beyond the placement of man-made elements on the landscape in order to provide the best economically feasible design solution. Our staff of planners, landscape architects, engineers, and environmentalists, offer a team approach to bring a project from its conceptual stages to design and implementation. We recommend commencing our work with a start-up meeting. This will allow us to understand your concerns and can advance the project in an expeditious manner. We have reviewed the proposed tasks contained in the RFP, visited the sites, and we believe we have a clear understanding of the goals of this project. The RFP specifies the following improvements: 1. SURVEYING SERVICES A. Location & Partial Topographic Survey for building, parking lot islands and rain garden area; B. Establish horizontal contro! will be based on North American Datum 1983 (New Jersey State Plane Coordinate System-NAD 83) and North American Vertical Datum 1988 (NAVD 88); C. Benchmark(s) to be set on site for future use; D. Existing conditions/Survey Control plan; E. Coordinate utility mark-outs; 2 LANDSCAPE ARCHITECTURE SERVICES A. Review the Township Ordinance as related to landscape requirements. B. Prepare a Landscape Plan to provide four-season interest and reduce maintenance requirements; a. Parking lot islands including shade trees and groundcover perennials; b. Foundation plantings along the building foundations where possible; and c. Evergreen buffering at the south corner of the site. Design a Rain Garden adjacent to the building with connection to the existing drainage system; Coordinate with Township Forester for planting selections at islands and rain garden; Provide planting notes, planting details, and specifications; Plan Set to include but not limited to Cover Sheet, Existing Conditions/Survey Control Plan, Landscape for Parking Lot Islands; Construction and Landscape
