298-24 October 29, 2024 RESOLUTION AUTHORIZING APPROVAL OF HELICOPTER LANDING AT SHP WHEREAS, Rutgers University seeks permission to land a helicopter and visit Seton Hall Preparatory School in West Orange (“SHP”) between October 22, 2024 and December 31, 2024; and WHEREAS, the landing spot for the helicopter will be Verducci Field at SHP (the “Property”), and WHERAS, the New Jersey Department of Transportation, Division of Aeronautics, Inspection & Aircraft Operation does permit and has in the past permitted helicopter landings at locations in the Township such as the Property when approved pursuant to its application process; and WHEREAS, SHP will provide the exact date(s) of the helicopter arrival; and WHEREAS, SHP shall have permission from the Township so long as the Township Police Department and Township Fire Department are advised at least two (2) business days in advance of the helicopters scheduled arrival; NOW, BE IT HEREBY RESOLVED, that the Township Council of the Township of West Orange, does and hereby states that it has no objection to the issuance of a Temporary Aeronautical Facility License to SHP, located at 120 Northfield, West Orange, NJ 07052, for the purpose of allowing Rutgers University and their coaching staff to visit SHP; and it is further RESOLVED, that this Resolution shall be made available in the Clerk’s office for reasonable inspection in accordance with applicable law. 299-24 October 29, 2024 RESOLUTION AUTHORIZING THE COLLECTOR OF TAXES TO REFUND PAYMENT TO THE LISTED TAXPAYER DUE TO A DUPLICATE PAYMENT OF 2022 ANNUAL SEWER CHARGE WHEREAS, certain West Orange property owners or their mortgage company have made a duplicate payment for the 2024 annual sewer charge; WHEREAS, the Tax Collector of the Township of West Orange has indicated that such Taxpayers or their mortgage company are entitled to refunds to the extent of such overpayments; NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED by the Township Council of the Township of West Orange that the Tax Collector and the Treasurer of the Township of West Orange be and they are hereby authorized, empowered and directed to cause to be paid to the taxpayers on the attached list sums in full and final satisfaction of the overpayment of the 2024 annual sewer charge. 302-24 October 29, 2024 RESOLUTION AUTHORIZING THE COLLECTOR OF TAXES TO REBATE PAYMENT TO THE LISTED TAXPAYER PURSUANT TO FINAL JUDGMENT BY THE TAX COURT OF NEW JERSEY WHEREAS, final judgment on tax appeals has been rendered by the Tax Court of New Jersey on the petitions of the taxpayers listed on the attached schedule reducing the assessment. 304-24 October 29, 2024 RESOLUTION AUTHORIZING TEMPORARY EASEMENT AGREEMENT WITH OWNER OF 735 NORTHFIELD AVENUE WHEREAS, a portion of the Township’s sanitary sewer line runs beneath the property located at 735 Northfield Avenue, West Orange, NJ 07052, known as Block 166, Lot 59 (the “Property”); and WHEREAS, the Township of West Orange Engineer has determined that there are immediate improvements that need to be initiated at the Property to allow the Township to install approximately 255 linear feet or 8” PVC sanitary sewer main within the existing 8-foot sanitary sewer easement in order to demolish the existing pump station and reroute and connect the existing sanitary sewer laterals the new sewer main located beneath the Property; and WHEREAS, the owner of the Property has agreed to a Deed of Temporary Easement and Temporary Easement Agreement attached herein as Exhibit “A;” and WHEREAS, the Township Engineer has deemed these repairs necessary to protect the health and safety of residents; and NOW, BEING HEREBY RESOLVED BY THE TOWNSHIP COUNCIL OF THE TOWNSHIP OF WEST ORANGE, that Township is authorized to enter into the Deed of Temporary Easement and Easement Agreement attached herein as Exhibit “A;” and it is further RESOLVED, that a copy of this Resolution shall be made available in the Clerk’s office in accordance with applicable law.
