103-25 March 25, 2025 A RESOLUTION APPROVING A PROPOSAL FROM MATRIX NEW WORLD FOR ENVIRONMENTAL SERVICES AT 55 LAKESIDE AVENUE (FORMER BARTON PRESS SITE) NTE $104,715.00 WHEREAS, on March 3, 2025, the Township of West Orange (the “Township”) received a proposal from Matrix New World Engineering, Land Surveying, and Landscape Architecture, P.C. (“Matrix”) to perform environmental services at: 55 Lakeside Avenue (Former Barton Press), West Orange, New Jersey, also known as Block 115 Lots 15 & 17 on the Township of West Orange Tax Map; and WHEREAS, the former Barton Press is part of the Lakeside Avenue Brownfield Development Area (BDA) as identified by the New Jersey Department of Environmental Protection (NJDEP) Office of Brownfield and Community Revitalization; and WHEREAS, the work will consist of Matrix conducting a comprehensive regulated material (RBM) investigation, sampling/testing for asbestos -containing material (ACMs), reporting and preparation of specifications and bid documents; and NOW, BE IT HEREBY RESOLVED BY THE TOWNSHIP COUNCIL OF THE TOWNSHIP OF WEST ORANGE, that the Township accepts the proposal from Matrix attached herein as Exhibit “A,” not to exceed $104,715.00 to complete the scope of work; AND FURTHER RESOLVED, that a copy of this Resolution shall be made available in the Clerk’s office in accordance with applicable law.
