Show all pages2983-26 Deleted: XXXX AN ORDINANCE AMENDING AND SUPPLEMENTING CHAPTER 7 “TRAFFIC,” SECTION ______ OF THE REVISED GENERAL ORDINANCES OF THE TOWNSHIP OF WEST ORANGE TO ESTABLISH A RESIDENTIAL PERMIT PARKING AT PILLOT PLACE, FOR A LIMITED TIME PURSUANT TO A PILOT PROGRAM Deleted: NUTMAN PLACE, OSBORNE PLACE, Deleted: QUINBY PLACE, RIGGS PLACE AND WHEREAS, The Mayor and Council of the Township of West Orange (the SWAINE PLACE … “Township”), have an interest in the efficient administration of government services; and WHEREAS, Pillot Place endures significant traffic flow and pedestrian activity, which Deleted: Nutman Place, Osborne Place, has caused difficulty for many residents that live on Pillot Place to find parking; and Deleted: , Quinby Place, Riggs Place, and Swaine Place Deleted: those streets WHEREAS, pursuant to N.J.S.A. 40:48-1, the governing body of a municipality may make, amend, repeal, and enforce such other ordinances, regulations, rules and by-laws not contrary to the laws of this State or Federal Government, as it may deem necessary and proper for the good of government, order and protection of person and property, and for the preservation of the public health, safety and welfare of the municipality and its inhabitants, and as may be necessary to carry into effect the powers and duties conferred and imposed by this subtitle, or by any law; and WHEREAS, current parking regulations on Pillot Place, restrict parking to one side of Deleted: Nutman Place, Osborne Place, the street due to insufficient roadway width; and Deleted: Quinby Place, Riggs Place, and Swaine Place WHEREAS, the Governing Body of the Township of West Orange finds that it is necessary for the public health, safety and welfare of the municipality and its inhabitants to explore innovative solutions to respond to the residents’ parking demands on Pillot Place; and Deleted: in the Valley section WHEREAS, the Governing Body of the Township of West Orange desires to
