144-25 May 20, 2025 RESOLUTION Township of West Orange Essex County, New Jersey Resolution: Approval to submit a grant application and execute a grant contract with the New Jersey Department of Transportation for the St. Cloud Avenue (from Northfield Ave to Arverne Rd) & Sheridan Avenue (from Northfield Ave to Chestnut Rd) Improvement Project. NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED that the Mayor and Council of the Township of West Orange formally approve the grant application for the above-mentioned project. BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that the Mayor and Clerk are hereby authorized to submit an electronic grant application identified as “LTPF-2025-St. Cloud Ave & Sheridan Ave Impro00052” to the New Jersey Department of Transportation on behalf of the Township of West Orange. BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that the Mayor and Clerk are hereby authorized to sign the grant agreement on behalf of the Township of West Orange and that their signatures constitute acceptance of the terms and conditions of the grant agreement and approve the execution of the grant agreement. 146-25 May 20, 2025 RESOLUTION AUTHORIZING TEMPORARY EASEMENT AGREEMENT WITH OWNER OF 46 MOUNT PLEASANT AVENUE WHEREAS, the Township seeks to install electric vehicle charging bays at the property located at 46 Mount Pleasant Avenue, West Orange, NJ 07052, known as Block 68, Lot 1.01 (the “Property”); and WHEREAS, the Township of West Orange Director of Public Works and Township Engineer have determined that the electric vehicle charging bays require installation of an underground conduit from the existing buildings to the island across from the Property; and WHEREAS, the easement needed for this installation will be sixteen (16) feet in length, twenty-four (24) inches in width, and approximately three (3) feet in depth. WHEREAS, the owner of the Property has agreed to a Deed of Temporary Easement and Temporary Easement Agreement attached herein as Exhibit “A;” and NOW, BEING HEREBY RESOLVED BY THE TOWNSHIP COUNCIL OF THE TOWNSHIP OF WEST ORANGE, that Township is authorized to enter into the Deed of Temporary Easement and Easement Agreement attached herein as Exhibit “A;” and it is further RESOLVED, that a copy of this Resolution shall be made available in the Clerk’s office in accordance with applicable law.
