Performance Test Report for Wood Fired Meat Smoker Project number: 89735150 1. Introduction AECOM Technical Services, Inc. (AECOM) of Conshohocken, Pennsylvania was retained by Wonder Group, Inc., (Wander) ta conduct this Performance Test on one of the wood-fired Meat Smoker units located at their West Orange, New Jersey facility. Additional test program details are presented in Table 1-1. Wonder currently manages a meat smoking operation with four wood-fired units at their West Orange facility. Wonder is expanding its capacity by adding new smokers and aims to assess their emissions before they are fully approved and installed. AECOM is supporting Wonder by conducting this Performance Test to evaluate particulate matter (PM) and polycyclic aromatic hydrocarbons (PAHs) emissions from one of the Meat Smokers. The data gathered from this test program will be utilized in dispersion modeling to predict the potential effects on the surrounding community. During this program, gaseous emission parameters measured from the exhaust stack included PM and PAHs as well as fixed gases, including oxygen (Oz) and carbon dioxide (CO2) diluent gases, which are required in conjunction with the emissions tested. Three (3) test runs were conducted at one of the exhaust stacks while the smoker was operated at the maximum achievable load condition. Test program participants on site included: Mr. Timothy Mierap, Mr. Charlie Thompson, Ms. Jenn Sabbak and Ms. Laura Kinsey of AECOM. Mr. Jason Bottcher and Mr. Alex Smith fram Wonder were present during the testing. Additional information is contained in the Appendices as follows: Appendix A provides reference method field data and calculations of results for the test program and Appendix B contains facility data that contains fuel feed rate. Appendix € contains reference method quality assurance and quality control data. Appendix D contains laboratory analytical results. 1.1. Test Program Exceptions 1.4.4 Low Stack Gas Velocity During the preliminary evaluation of the stack gas flow rate, it was observed that the flow rate was extremely low, as measured by bath the differential pressure gauge on the standard sampling console manometer and a high-resolution digital manometer. The readings were below 0.01 inches of water. Given the low flow rate, it is reasonable to assume that the flow is laminar and non-cyclonic since there
nometer and a high-resolution digital manometer. The readings were below 0.01 inches of water. Given the low flow rate, it is reasonable to assume that the flow is laminar and non-cyclonic since there was insufficient kinetic energy in the exhaust gas stream to create cyclonic flow. AECOM conducted sampling throughout the program based on an assumed differential pressure of 0.01 inches of water as a worst-case flow rate given that readings were known ta be less than 0.01 inches of water. 1.4.2 Emission Results Given that the differential pressure for the stack gas had been measured to be less than 0.01 inches of water, sampling was canducted at an exceptionally low flow rate. This deviation from standard conditions intraduces a potential bias in the test results, which likely results in overestimating the actual stack emissions. The low flow rate affects the accuracy and representativeness of the data, and as a result, the emissions measured during this test program are likely higher than they actually are under normal operating conditions. Performance Test Report for Wood Fired Meat Smoker Project number: 89735150 2. Summary and Discussion of Results 2.1 Results Summary This section presents a detailed summary of the PM and PAH emissions results obtained during the performance test completed for the Wonder Meat Smoker on August 6 and August 7, 2024. As previously discussed in Section 1.0, three (3) test runs were completed for the purpose of quantifying PM and PAH emissions. Performance testing was performed while the meat smoker was operating at the maximum achievable load condition while combusting wood fuel. Table 2-1 provides a summary of the emissions results for the testing program. Note that Run 2 failed the past-leak check on the Method 5/202 train. As a result, Run 2 was voided, and an additional Run 4 was conducted to collect three representative samples. The remainder of this section provides summaries of the test results for each measured parameter. 2.44 Particulate Matter Results — Exhaust Stack As shown in Table 2-1, filterable PM (FPM) concentrations in units of grains per dry standard cubic foot (gr/dsef) averaged 0.0024 gr/dsef during the emissions testing. Concurrent FPM mass emission rates averaged 0.011 pounds per hour (Ib/hr). Condensable PM (CPM) concentrations averaged 0.0035 gr/dsef during the emissions testing. Concurrent CPM mass emission rates averaged 0.016 pounds per hour {Ib/hr). Total PM (TPM) concentrations averaged 0.0058 gr/dscf during the emissions testing. TPM mass emission rates averaged 0.027 pounds per hour (lb/hr). 2.1.2 Polycyclic Aramatic Hydrocarbons — Exhaust Stack PAH concentrations for individual compounds in units of nanograms per dry standard cubic foot and mass emission rates averaged in pounds per hour (Ib/hr) are presented in Table 2-2.
